I appreciate all the effort it takes to complete a manuscript and, as an editor, I feel honored when a client entrusts me with their work. I respond to that trust with honesty, integrity, and respect for confidentiality.
I view each editing project as a joint venture with the writer, and I maintain close communications throughout the process. I take great care in my work, and I want you to be happy with the results, assured that the edited product you send out into the world is in the best shape possible. My mission is to polish your work, not to rewrite your story. I will not trample your style, though I may call attention to opportunities to unleash and strengthen your unique voice.
Outside of Ascend Editing & Critique, I write and edit for a national nonprofit association. I am active in writing organizations and critique groups, and I serve as a judge for several writing contests. I enjoy attending fiction writers’ conferences for the community, the workshops, and the real-time insight into the upcoming directions for this highly changeable industry.
